By the Sea

On Mother's Day my mom, sis and I went down to one of my favorite little spots in Laguna Beach to get out of the house for a bit. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the patchy clouds made me excited to see how the sunset would pan out. But, to my disappointment, we didn't stay for it because we had to run back for dinner (Mom's orders and I couldn't really argue... it being Mother's Day and all). Anyway, I think I managed to snap off a few good shots of the afternoon light. Enjoy!

Not in Kansas Anymore

I'm back. Kind of. For those of you who don't know I have been locked up for the past six weeks nursing a snowboarding injury (I dislocated my shoulder jumping off a box). Despite the pain, it's been nice getting to have a break from work... spending my afternoons reading or watching movies I've been meaning to see and just haven't had the time to. However, it's been killing me to have to watch beautiful days roll by and not being able to grab my camera and go out and capture them (especially because I have all the time in the world to right now!). So, a few days ago I decided to give my shoulder a test run (which I am now regretting because it's still sore) and go explore Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park. It was absolutely beautiful. Spring definitely transformed what is usually a dry, brown environment into a lush, green one filled with wildflowers. Seeing it unusually contrasted against the gnarled oak trees made me feel as if I wasn't quite in Kansas anymore.

Playtime

Rachelle and I once again filled in a weekend afternoon with a random photo shoot. This time around we ended up at a little park in our town that is sandwiched between a creek bed and an industrial area, which provided us with an interesting variety of spots to shoot in. I definitely want to venture back here again. For now, I shall let the pictures speak for themselves. Bon appetit!

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

A quick little experiment I did today since I was trapped inside by all the rain.

Black & Red

Another lazy Sunday afternoon motivated my sister and I to go out and shoot each other for fun. I love doing these shoots. They are so spontaneous and random. We were howling with laughter looking at them on the computer afterward... neither of us are exactly America's Next Top Model... but we had fun playing dress up and pretending to be. Enjoy!

Autumn in Eastern Sierras

After years of visiting Yosemite and the western Sierra Nevada Mountains my family and I finally decided to explore the eastern side of the range. Our adventure took us to Mt. Whitney, Mono Lake, the Tioga Pass, Gem Lake, Tuolumne Meadows, the June Lake Loop, Mammoth Lakes and Convict Lake. It was absolutely beautiful. We arrived a few days after a storm so the mountain peaks were dusted with snow which was a lovely contrast to the golden hue of the foliage and bright blue skies.
