Not in Kansas Anymore

I'm back. Kind of. For those of you who don't know I have been locked up for the past six weeks nursing a snowboarding injury (I dislocated my shoulder jumping off a box). Despite the pain, it's been nice getting to have a break from work... spending my afternoons reading or watching movies I've been meaning to see and just haven't had the time to. However, it's been killing me to have to watch beautiful days roll by and not being able to grab my camera and go out and capture them (especially because I have all the time in the world to right now!). So, a few days ago I decided to give my shoulder a test run (which I am now regretting because it's still sore) and go explore Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park. It was absolutely beautiful. Spring definitely transformed what is usually a dry, brown environment into a lush, green one filled with wildflowers. Seeing it unusually contrasted against the gnarled oak trees made me feel as if I wasn't quite in Kansas anymore.
